Living With the Microsoft Surface Pro 13 (12th Edition) Day to Day

Why this guide

A practical picture of ownership.

We track the Microsoft Surface Pro 13 (12th Edition) on Amazon UK, where it holds 4.6/5 from 94 ratings. Everything below comes from the listing, the spec sheet and buyer feedback.

Tips from owners

Small things that make a difference with the Microsoft Surface Pro 13 (12th Edition):

• •Give it a full first charge or setup cycle before judging performance.
• •Use the settings as intended rather than defaulting to maximum.
• •Keep the original packaging for the first 30 days in case you return it.
• •Buy any spares at the same time — they're often cheaper bundled.

Looking after it

Get the most out of the Microsoft Surface Pro 13 (12th Edition) by treating it as Microsoft intends: keep it clean and dry between uses, store it away from heat, and follow the manual for any replaceable parts. Most negative reviews of computers products come down to maintenance rather than manufacturing.

• •Clean after each use rather than weekly.
• •Store in the case or box it came with.
• •Replace consumable parts on schedule, not when they fail.
• •Keep the receipt and register the warranty where offered.

How long it should last

Owners reporting back after several months are the useful signal, and for the Microsoft Surface Pro 13 (12th Edition) the long-term feedback stays consistent with the launch reviews. Expect years of service with normal care, provided consumable parts are replaced on schedule.
