Is the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M5 Worth It in 2026?

The short answer

Yes — for most UK buyers the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M5 is worth it, provided you actually need what it does. Amazon UK buyers currently rate the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M5 4.5 out of 5 across 54 ratings. That is a strong score for a electronics product at this level, and it is backed up by consistent feedback rather than a handful of reviews.

The Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M5 chip combines a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU with 16GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD. Its Liquid Retina XDR display, all-day battery life and Apple Intelligence features make it a powerful choice for creative work, development and everyday productivity.

What owners say

One buyer summed it up as "Blazing fast for work" — The M5 chip handles everything I throw at it, from video editing to Xcode builds, without breaking a sweat.

One buyer summed it up as "Display is phenomenal" — The XDR screen is the best I have used on a laptop. Colours are accurate and HDR content looks incredible.

Our verdict

If the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M5 matches how you will use it day to day, it is an easy recommendation at its current UK price. If you only need it occasionally, a cheaper electronics option will do the job — but you will notice the difference in build and results.
